As a translator of English and Spanish texts into Dutch, I benefit greatly from my writing experience in journalism. I enjoy the challenge of making fiction and non-fiction suitable for a new target group.

I do a translation course Spanish at ITV Hogeschool in Utrecht, The Netherlands, and completed the subject ‘English as additional language’ (EAL).   

The target group of a translated text may not always be the same as that of the source text. Sometimes it´s better not to translate all the words literally, but instead describe or explain them. Leaving out text can sometimes also be a good choice.
